Triple Threat Musical Theatre Course
What do well-known Australian actors Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Rhonda Burchmore and Lisa McCune have in common? They can all sing, dance and act. In other words, they are all "Triple Threats". The versatility of Triple Threat performers means they are equally comfortable on the stage as they are in screen roles, ensuring they are always in high demand. The Central Coast Conservatorium has engaged well-known Australian musical theatre identities Tim Page and Allan Royal to head the Triple Threat Musical Theatre Course. Sessions take place on Saturdays, 2pm to 4.30pm in the Robert Knox Hall.
Triple Threat teaches the full range of performance techniques, including vocal work, acting techniques, character work, improvisation, monologue delivery, audition skills and Broadway style dance routines; all skills that will give participants a genuine edge when it comes to impressing at auditions. Local dance teacher Nicky Castle has been appointed to assist Page and Royal with the dance elements of the course.
Tim Page and Allan Royal bring years of experience performing in countless musicals, plays, films and television. Both have worked extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and on London's West End. Page is best known for major screen roles in The Young Doctors, A Country Practice, Water Rats and All Saints as well as London West End roles in Aspects of Love and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. Royal is best known for stage roles in Jesus Christ Superstar (playing opposite Jon English and Marcia Hines), See Saw and La Cage Aux Folles to name just a few.
Entry is by Audition. Register your interest here.
